5 Emotions All Clients Feel During A Boudoir Session

When we go through a period of growth, with it comes a myriad of emotions in order to find this newer, better version of ourselves. A boudoir session isn’t much different; you are going through an experience that will make you grow in ways you couldn’t have dreamed, finding the confidence and self love you might have been missing for so long. In order to get there, prepare to feel all the feels. Don’t stress though, we’re going to walk you through some of the most common emotions that our clients feel during their Simply Boudoir session.

Nerves

The scariest of the emotions, nerves control your narrative for the first part of your day – when you’re getting ready to leave your house that morning, on the journey to our home studio, even in the lead-up to getting in front of the camera. Know that this is totally normal, and even though your stomach might be in knots, you know what they say: feel the fear and do it anyway.

Excitement

This starts to peek in during the makeover process; seeing yourself transform with the help of our team is an exciting moment! Be aware, our make-up artists never try to make you a different person – they are merely enhancing you, helping you rediscover the beauty that’s been there all along. Nerves and excitement go hand in hand, so you might find that whilst the excitement doesn’t shoo away the nerves entirely, you’re buzzing and ready to go.

Shyness

If you’re not used to being in front of a camera (or sitting around in your sexy smalls in front of one!), you’re probably going to feel a little bit shy to begin with when it’s time to start shooting. You only have to take one look at our Client Testimonials [link] to see that you are not alone, and that it doesn’t take long for our photographer Tracey to put you at ease and for that shyness to melt away!

Contentment

After the shyness comes to contentment; give it a little bit of time and you’ll realise that you’re feeling so comfortable in the studio. You’ll know when this change happens because you’ll begin to really feel your oats in front of the camera! You’ll find that you’re starting to embrace the process more and forgetting everything you felt before. It’s now that you’ll truly be able to get out of your own head, and embrace yourself and the session, right here, right now.

Confidence

Our favourite of the entire Simply Boudoir experience! There’s a certain point of your session, somewhere just shortly after that comforting feeling of contentment, where you unlock a new-found confidence like never before. Insecurities are long gone, there’s no sign of self-consciousness, and you tap into a whole new you. You might find during this time that you feel a bit more adventurous and step out of your comfort zone more than ever before! There’s an indescribable kind of joy that comes with body acceptance and self love, and that’s what our clients experience; for us, there’s no better feeling than to see that unfold before our very eyes. And don’t worry, that doesn’t disappear when your session is over – that will stay with you for a long time after!
